I spent many months up north doing science research for a project.
I was in a particularly cold plus remote section with only two other skilled scientists.
Every one of us were reading about migration patterns of the humpback whale plus the killer whale. Every one of us were inside of a big tent that had part for our laboratory items. There was only 1 small furnace in the tent, however it never actually helped the indoor temperatures much at all. There were cracks plus crevices all over the tent that allowed air to enter the small enclosed area. When the 2-month task ended, I was grateful to finally head back home. Even though it was Winter when I arrived back in the states, the temperatures felt like the warm season compared to the cold plus chili temperatures I had endured for the last 2 months. I found that I do not like residing without heat. The next time there was an appointment plus project that required a person with our skills, I made sure to ask about the endpoint first. It turned out to be the same frigid Winter area, so I told the boss that I was unable to commit to those days plus I waited until a much better project in a warmer temperature came our way. My boss wasn’t particularly stoked that I decided to turn down the task. I did not want him to recognize like I wasn’t going to be a part of the team, however it was a volunteer position plus I already knew that I wasn’t going to take care of myself staying in that cold region for 2 months
