Before last weekend, I had never been to a hotel with a ductless mini split heating and cooling system in it before.
I go to hotels fairly regularly for work but this was the first time that I have ever stayed at this particular place.
Anyway, I wanted to stay here because it was right next door to the place where I was working. I like to stay close to my work so that I can get extra sleep when I’m out of town. When I first got to the hotel, I thought that there was something wrong with the heating and cooling system in my room. It was really hot in the room and I was afraid that the HVAC system was messed up. The funny thing was that there was no thermostat unit on the wall in the room! I looked all over the place for it and I couldn’t find it. Then I realized that there wasn’t a heating and cooling system in the room by the windows at all. I was perplexed because up until that point I had never stayed in a hotel room without one of those! I ended up calling down to the front desk and they told me that they had replaced all of their old style heating and cooling systems with something called ductless mini split heating and cooling systems. That is when I noticed a second remote control on the nightstand. The first one was for the TV but the second one was for the ductless mini split, which was tastefully hidden away in the wall in the corner of the room.
