Ductless mini splits are perfect for whole homes

This past year, I purchased new Heating and Air Conditioning equipment for a rental property that I have.

Instead of spending some time researching new systems, I permitted my handyman/Heating and Air Conditioning repair guy to take care of buying and installing the equipment for me.

He found a new Heating and Air Conditioning unit for a great price, and he was able to install the new unit with no issues. Well, after the equipment was installed, I was having a convo with a friend, who was saying that he too just installed a new Heating and Air Conditioning equipment inside one of his rental properties. Unlike my unit, this was a ductless mini split air conditioning and heating unit. I have heard of the ductless mini split air conditioning systems in the past, but I thought they were only used for small spaces. To my surprise, the HVAC equipment can cool an entire property. He told me that one outside condenser can support up to 8 air handlers. For the most part, I have seen ductless mini split units being used in tiny properties and small living spaces, so I was completely clueless to this information. Had I known that the ductless mini split unit could cool an entire house, I would have opted to invest in that style of HVAC equipment instead of the official Heating and Air Conditioning unit that uses air ducts. The tremendous ease of installation is a wonderful selling point for these mini split units. I discovered that the upfront cost is a bit higher than an official Heating and Air Conditioning unit, but I believe the benefits are certainly worth the extra investment. The next time I need to purchase a new Heating and Air Conditioning unit for a rental property, I will totally think about investing in a mini split unit.
