I know we’re still getting to revel in this gorgeous winter weather.
I still don’t understand how they deal with winter up north.
I’ve visited a few times during the winter months and that’s all the taste of that mess I need. My wife actually grew up with all that winter weather. But after 20 plus years of living down here, even she can’t hack that situation. So for me, if you need a gas furnace for heating, I’ll pass on a visit and suggest you come down here where even the heat pump is happy it’s winter. I’m glad that I get to soak up all that sunshine, nice temperatures and blue skies for a bit longer. But before I know it, the heat pump will be pumping out that cooling we need in order to get through the heat season. That’s what I call summer. I call it that because it lasts for a minimum of four months if not a tad more. Without good residential HVAC, there is simply no way that I could get through June, July, August and September. That’s a murderer’s row for us. Thankfully, the air conditioning process also balances the humidity level in the house. That means we don’t have to deal with a bunch of mold and mildew. If it weren’t for the humidity balance provided by the heat pump, we’d be in a mess of our own. And that mess would be gross. High heat and high humidity are just the elements that mold and mildew need to thrive. The air conditioning keeps humidity levels in check which then mitigates mold growth. Thank goodness for small miracles.
