I am not happy with the heating situation in our home office, then for years I have needed to use a supplemental heater, but the living room gas fireplace just does not get the job done! In order to not have frozen pipes in the home office, I have to supply ample heating.
For a long time I relied on a ventless gas oil furnace that took up floor space.
I couldn’t get any lower cabinets there because of the heater. It looked ugly & didn’t labor all that well. I swear the thing pooped out freezing air more than warm. It also complained about being dirty & overheating a lot, and cleaning it & blowing dirt out with an air compressor didn’t help. Finally I decided I wanted a current heater, and my partner pushed me to get a ductless mini split… He liked the idea that both of us could have AC in the Summer if both of us wanted to. The mini split was current too. It could be mounted on the wall & free up floor space. I wasn’t too sure about it but I wanted a unusual heater… Well I should have clarified with the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C corporation on sizing & localement. The ductless mini split now sits above our home office windows & looks terrible. It is also a big pale white box that draws your eye. It entirely makes our pretty home office look ugly. It does supply wonderful heating & cooling. It looks horrible. I believe I won’t be keeping that mini split forever due to this. I should have done heated flooring.
