An electric surge disfigures our a/c during a hurricane

I thought that I had ridden out the most recent hurricane to hit this state relatively unscathed, i am ecstatic that we were not directly hit head on by this category 4 storm, however it passed by quite close anyway, however close enough for us to experience wind speeds of 50 mph with gusts up to 69mph! Flooding was extensive, however we are far enough from the coast plus on slightly elevated ground, so it wasn’t as disappointing in our area; That being said, the water was up to about 7 inches in our town! All of us ended up losing power early in the evening, plus it was not restored until about 2 plus a 1/2 days later.

I remember the lights plus our fan hastily turning on plus off before finally there was darkness plus silence.

I had not guessed that there had been extensive mangle to the wiring of our Heating, Ventilation and A/C system. To our great dismay, a full week after the power had already been restored, My a/c method gave out on me. It was working poorly plus then it simply stopped working all together, however when the Heating, Ventilation and A/C man took a look, he surmised that a power surge had disfigured some of the electrical components of the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system, including the capacitor, which had eventually blown. It’s a rough situation to be in, because I was sure that we had made it out okay, plus then this happens! I am now talking with the Heating, Ventilation and A/C supplier about whether or not it will be more or less extravagant to simply purchase an entirely new unit.
