It’s not too long now.
The heat pump has been really quiet over the last three months.
But that’s not going to last much longer. We’re quickly closing at the end of February and that means temperatures are about to rise. Not only do our temperatures rise, but they keep on going. By the time we get to June, the temperature is normally hovering just below the hundred degree mark. And this is day in and day out. So this is the time of year to get the air conditioning plan together. I do this every year in order for all of us to be on the same page when it comes to cooling our home. I’m not into spending the equivalent of a new car payment just so I can have air conditioning. But with a little planning and execution, you just don’t have to pay that kind of money for cooling comfort. The first thing I do when it comes to my cost saving plan for the summer is to call the HVAC company. There’s not a good plan to save air conditioning money unless you have a heat pump that’s working at its most efficient. I start with an air conditioning tune up performed by the HVAC professionals we’ve used for a long time. Once that’s done, we do our best to get our home sealed up tight to further maximize the HVAC equipment efficiency. In order to further maximize the heat pump efficiency, we also stop direct sunlight heating with solar shades. But for sure, as a family we have to make sure that the thermostat setting is always reasonable. When we bring all of these things together, we end up saving a great deal of money on air conditioning costs.
