I’m not so old that I don’t recall what it’s like starting out an adult life.
Sure, I’m hovering around 70 these days but I know all about the challenges that come with being a first time homeowner.
I’ve lived in several homes and they all had great quality heating and air. Good residential HVAC has always been a gold standard in my life. The house I’m in now is much smaller as it’s just me these days. My wife and I parted ways when the kids left home. We realized that sharing the central air conditioning without the children wasn’t what either of us wanted. It was sad for both of us but we parted friends and parents to our kids. I’m down south now where the heat pump is king. I’m in a small neighborhood where a young couple just moved in next door. We’re friendly and I made sure that they knew to knock on my door if I could lend a hand. Being a good neighbor is also a gold standard of mine. So when the young man texted me that he was having a problem with the air conditioning, I went next door. I’m not the sort of old guy who is all about telling young people how to live. I hated that when I was young so I’m careful not to be that guy. But when my young friend said he was thinking about getting a recharge kit for the heat pump, I imparted the only HVAC wisdom I possess. Nothing good ever comes from working on residential HVAC equipment yourself. Just call the HVAC professionals because they are expertly trained and can diagnose the problem properly.
