When my husband told me that the cabin that we were going to was rustic, I thought that he was exaggerating just a little bit.
It turned out that he wasn’t stressing the rustic part enough! This place looked like it belonged in the 16th century or something like that.
I am not even exaggerating at all. I don’t even know where he found this place because it did not look like something that you would ever find on the internet, that’s for sure. I had not stayed in a place like this one before, and it was a little bit of a culture shock for me, that’s for sure. I have stayed in many nice hotels and inns over the years, but I have never stayed in a place like this one. It didn’t even have air conditioning in it at all. It did not even have a window unit A/C in the kitchen or anything like that! I couldn’t believe it because I have never stayed in a place without air conditioning before. Luckily for us, we weren’t there during the summer. Otherwise, I would have been a mess. I hate being too hot and I would have hated being stuck at this place without an air conditioning system. It was weird enough to be there during the winter! This place actually had this old baseboard heating installed in it all along the walls. I couldn’t believe it. I had never seen baseboard heating before except for in the movies! It kept the place fairly warm, but I would hate to be the one to pay the heating bills at that place.
