I can’t repair heat pumps or AC units anymore

I worked in the heating and cooling industry for 20 years of my life.

When I finished with the military at 25, I decided to go to a technical school nearby to learn more about heating and AC repairs and installation work. The classes were difficult and I had a really hard time passing all of the tests. It had been a while since I had studied and been in school and I didn’t do very well then either. That’s one of the reasons why I decided to go into the military. My grades weren’t terrible and there was no way that I was going to qualify for college. Military was my only option other than working at the fast food business. After I finished schooling and found a job, I spent the next 20 years of my life working on heat pump repairs and AC installations. I worked on residential, commercial, and Industrial projects. During that time, I beat up my body. It was too hard on my back and my knees. I am not even 50 years old yet and I already have trouble bending and squatting. I can no longer work in the repair industry. There are some days when I miss doing the job that I love, but most of the time I’m thankful that I got out when I did. A lot of people continue working in the HVAC industry until they really can’t move anymore. I didn’t want to wait to get out of the industry until I was riddled with back, knees, and neck problems
