My mom wasn’t sympathetic with my plight.

When I graduated, mom took a hard stance with me.

She told me I was still young, and she wanted me to have fun, but she also always wanted me to consider a career.

She wanted me to think about something I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. The job had to have job security, and make me independent. I had only just graduated a month ago, and already mom was trying to push me out of the house. She wasn’t sympathetic when I told her I wasn’t ready to work. She wasn’t sympathetic with anything I had to say about working. She offered to pay for education, but it had to be with a job in mind. I was offended and hurt, but I started to plan my life. Somewhere along the line, I realized Heating and A/C was a task that would always have task security, and I was excited to talk to mom. She owned the local Heating and A/C business, and I wanted to know if she would let me work my way through school. I don’t think I had ever seen my mom more proud or more excited. She started telling me about the Heating and A/C company and the plans she had for the future. She asked if I would be interested in getting a degree in engineering and design for Heating and A/C systems. I wanted to become a Heating and A/C worker first, and then we would talk about engineering and design of Heating and A/C systems. It amazed me how rapidly she flipped directions and was now talking about me becoming her partner in the Heating and A/C business.
