The goal was to make Grandpa feel more cozy
I planned to improve the heating and cooling system right away when my Grandpa willed the house to me. He had casually mentioned residing in his old country cabin to me when he joined my late Grandma soon. This was while in my last visit to him, about a year ago, and grandpa Charlie was still strong and we would laugh it off whenever he brought this up. ALl of us knew he would live much longer ]; Unluckyly, his last few afternoons were not the happiest, then while he was strong and healthy, there was a sadness to him that we understood. He missed my Grandma dearly. The two had been married for 45 years and Grandma’s death had been sudden. She got mysteriously ill and was gone in three months. It was though Grandpa lost his zeal for life when we laid my Grandma to rest. He no longer appreciated most of the things that gave him delight in the past. All he could do was remember the afternoons they shared with his partner and how he wished they were together. So when I got the call that my number one Grandpa was gone, I had mixed feelings. I was uneasy that I would not see him again, but also cheerful that he would be with his prefer forever. And just as he had joked about it, he left the cabin to me. I appreciated this space too much and had always escaped here whenever life in the city became overwhelming. I remember feeling the cabin being too cold the last time I was here. I had plans to change the heating equipment from the old boiler, to a new central Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit. The goal was to make Grandpa feel more cozy. Since he left the house to me, I still plan to go ahead with the current heating and cooling upgrade. Maybe someday I will transport in here too.
