So I’m a bit embarrassed by how empowered I’ve become due to all the videos that I can access online.
Any time I have a question or need to diagnose a complication & repair it when it comes to stuff around the house, I jump on the ipad.
Spending like a half hour inside the central air conditioner enjoying instructional videos has made me way overconfident about my skills. This is from a woman who could barely figure out how to change the air filter for the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C component when my nice friend and I first bought this house. I’ve never been exactly mechanically inclined. But I never provided up on it either. For sure, the learning curve that comes with homeownership has been beneficial. At least these days, I’m not afraid of tackling a project & the online videos have been such a big part of that newfound confidence, and yet, like I said, I’ve slipped into some stark overconfidence lately & the experience with my heating & cooling component has been a reality check. I hate that it had to be such an fancy reality check though. When I came condo to find the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C component running but no cooling coming from the air ducts, I went straight to my ipad. But I should have gone straight to the iPhone & called the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C professionals for help. Instead, spurred on by this overconfidence, I thought I could diagnose & then repair the air conditioner issue. Of course, heating & cooling component are meant to be inspected by only Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C professionals. And honestly, I knew that. Still, I did my online video thing & then tried to repair the cooling problem. That move cost me hundreds of dollars more than if I had just called the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C supplier because I just made everything worse.
