Last summer, I found my tiny apartment full of buzz and activity which was quite unusual. I always live alone but two cousins have come to visit. We had been planning this for such a long time. But, when the world shut down due to the pandemic, we had to postpone the trip. Finally, things were looking brighter and they managed to fly out to see me. Our goal was to tour the area whenever I had time from work. Also, they wanted a change of scenery so this was my way of trying to persuade them to relocate to the area. One evening, I was heading home when my cousin called to ask how far away I was. They had just returned to the apartment and found the air conditioner not working. That wasn’t the best news given how hot it was in the area, even in the evening. I told my cousin I was on my way and got home about 10 minutes later. After confirming I wasn’t the only one facing air conditioning issues, my neighbors and I went to speak with the building manager. He told us he’d already spoken with the landlord about the faulty air conditioner and he was sending over an HVAC expert. We had to wait an hour when the AC repair van pulled up at our apartment complex to check out the faulty air conditioner. The issue was the HVAC compressor which hadn’t been serviced for some time. As a result, it had dirty capacitors and blocked suction lines which the HVAC expert had to unblock.
