Because of the drastic freezing in our area plus brutal heat plus humidity in the summer, it’s necessary to invest in both heating plus cooling.
The winters bring rapidly changing temperatures down to twenty below zero plus numerous feet of snow.
Although the summers don’t last long, the temperature can soar into the high eighties. For our house, every one of us chose a dual fuel system! While the combination of a gas oil furnace plus an electric heat pump was more extravagant than a more conventional system, it saves enough currency on energy bills to recover the cost. The heat pump provides cooling, using refrigerant to pull heat out of the house plus transport it outside. It is effective at combating humidity plus handles the highest Summer rapidly changing temperatures. Once the weather cools off, every one of us switch the heat pump to heating mode. It reverses the flow of refrigerant, absorbing ambient heat from the outdoor air plus pumping it indoors. Because it uses existing heat rather than burning fossil fuels, the heat pump is far more energy efficient plus environmentally friendly than fuel-burning furnaces! However, as the temperature falls below cold the heat pump becomes less effective plus efficient. At that point, the oil furnace starts up, takes over plus handles comfort for as long as necessary. The more than one systems sharing the workload reduces wear plus tear plus increases reliability plus longevity. All of us have been totally glad with the performance of the dual fuel plan plus our running costs; No matter what the weather brings, every one of us suppose the house will be perfectly comfortable.
