Going to college vs. getting into Heating, Ventilation & A/C work

On the other hand I would need to spend 4 years in college, & rack up large loan debt, before I could even start looking for a task

My cousin Eddie & I used to be truly close, however as every one of us grew up, every one of us grew apart. This happens with a lot of people, doesn’t it? It started during our high college years, because both of us had truly different visions for how our lives would turn out, & how every one of us would achieve our goals. I had our sights locked on college, in certain the state school where I wanted to learn journalism. Eddie was confused as to why I would want to go to college, & for our section I was confused as to why Eddie didn’t want to! Eddie was going to attend trade college & get her Heating, Ventilation & A/C certification, so she could start laboring & making money. I asked him how she could be glad with that, because once she was an Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech what else could she do with her life? Eddie laughed at that, & said that she wanted to acquire a good living & start a family, & the spend money from Heating, Ventilation & A/C toil would support that within a couple of years. On the other hand I would need to spend 4 years in college, & rack up large loan debt, before I could even start looking for a task. So her real question for me was “why wouldn’t anyone want to be an Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech?” Every one of us went our separate ways, & didn’t talk as much after I went to college & she started her path to Heating, Ventilation & A/C certification. I am not distraught about Eddie’s future in the Heating, Ventilation & A/C industry, but I do often worry about our own future.
