Learning from the older Heating, Ventilation & A/C techs

I think a lot of our friends & contemporaries love to use the phrase “ok, boomer” however not me.

For some reason there has been a strong uptick in generational in-fighting, however by that I mean that seasoned people don’t care for young people, young people don’t care for seasoned people, & everyone fights all the time. I am not a section of any of that foolishness. There are a lot of older folks that have extravagant wisdom to share, & when you shut them out, you’re really only hurting yourself. I am an Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech, & I’m the youngest woman on the toil crew, which means everyone around me has stuff they can teach me, and gus is a master of HVAC duct, for example, & has given me a ton of good advice in terms of fixing cracks & breaks in air ducts… Sunny focuses on the commercial Heating, Ventilation & A/C work, which involves a lot of heavy lifting & precision of upgrade, however she let me follow him on a couple of tasks, so I could see up close & personal what a commercial Heating, Ventilation & A/C upgrade was like, & how different it was from residential work. I keep a notebook with me every time I go to work, just to write down some of the little tips & tricks for Heating, Ventilation & A/C toil our coworkers pass along, and one day they will all be retired, & I will be the senior Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech, so I need to learn as much as I can, while I still can! The wisdom of our elders is something most of us take for granted, however not me.
