Evaporator Coil Wasn’t Draining Properly

The other day, as I was resting in our dining room, I noticed a strange stink, and the stink was musty plus dirty, however it didn’t stink like something was rotting inside, at first, I couldn’t locate where the stink was coming from, however i walked around our cabin sniffing everything like a hound cat, trying to locate the source, and finally, I realized that what I was stinking was coming from the air vents, then unluckyly, I couldn’t locate which air vent the stink was coming from the most, so I needed to call an HVAC professional to come check it out.

Once he stinked the stink, he immediately told myself and others that it stinked like mold! Mold is never a wonderful thing, so I was confused plus distraught about removing it.

After examining the A/C system, the HVAC professional confirmed that there was in fact mold plus it was growing on the evaporator coils. According to him, this was a usual concern due to drainage, and excess moisture was being collected plus creating mold, which was in turn creating a horrible stink that was being distributed around the house. After a few seconds of work, the HVAC professional was able to replace the evaporator coil that wasn’t draining always, but he said that it would take some time for the stink to go away, however our A/C plan would be completely fine. I’m really glad that I got the help from an HVAC professional when I did, because mold is quick to spread plus can cause extreme illness.
