I really hope that replacing the air filter was all I needed to service our A/C system
There’s been something wrong with our A/C plan for a few weeks now, however our partner is in denial. Our bi-weekly utility expenses have been rising steadily plus the air hasn’t been as cool as it constantly is, then when I bring up the topic of the air not feeling cool enough, our partner thinks I’m overexaggerating due to our belief that something is wrong with our A/C system, since I believe that I can’t get him to contact an HVAC professional to come service our A/C system, I’ve taken things into our own hands. I believe this isn’t advocated , but I don’t want something exhausting to happen to our A/C plan if the two of us let it sit without any attention. After doing some research online, 1 of the top reasons for inefficiency plus lack of cool air is due to a dirty air filter. Thankfully, I believe where the two of us store the extra air filters. When I removed the dirty air filter, I couldn’t believe how jammed it was. The dust was so thick, it was hanging off the mesh. I replaced the dirty air filter for a wash air filter plus tried to wash up the mess from the dust plus debri that was falling off. Now, all I can do is wait to see if this makes a positive difference in our air quality plus energy bills. I really hope that replacing the air filter was all I needed to service our A/C system. If not, I don’t believe what it’s going to take for our partner to finally call an HVAC professional.
