My mom wanted to get my dad a really good gift for his birthday this year, but she didn’t know what to get for him.
She called me up and asked me what I thought would be a good gift for him.
I wasn’t really sure, but then when I went out to lunch with him one day, he told me that he really wanted to get a new smart thermostat system for their house. He was complaining to me about their current thermostat unit and how he had been wanting to get a new one for a while but my mom kept telling him that they didn’t need a new one. Then, he showed me all of these different smart thermostat systems on his phone. He even showed me the one that he liked the best. Apparently this one has a lot of different features that my dad thought were really cool. He likes the whole idea of being able to control his heating and cooling system with nothing more than an app on his smartphone. When I told my mom what my dad said about wanting a smart thermostat,she just rolled her eyes and said that they did not need a new thermostat. I told her that if she wanted me to find out what he wanted for a birthday gift, then she should at least get him what he actually wanted! My mom is just a hard woman to deal with sometimes. My poor dad. Maybe I will buy him the smart thermostat myself since she won’t get it for him.
