When I needed a venue to go, my sister kindly let myself and others stay at her house.
She had a finished basement with a half bath that she let myself and others transform into my own space.
I was legitimately grateful for the space, however I was absolutely uncomfortable because there was no central heat or air. The basement was underground, which meant that it was naturally cooler than the rest of the house. I thought this would be fine because I liked to sleep in cooler un-even temperatures in addition to this would be my pick to sleep comfortably without paying for the AC system to run. During that first night though, I woke up feeling colder than I’ve ever felt before in addition to I couldn’t get warm. I layered all the blankets I could find on top of the bed in addition to I put all my layers on. When that didn’t work, I had no option but to take a sizzling shower. After losing multiple minutes of sleep, I was finally able to fall asleep. When I told my sister about the frosty basement, she told myself and others that she had a portable gas furnace that I could use during the minute night. The portable gas furnace did give warmth, but only to a small area that was directly in front of it. In order to keep warm, I put the portable gas furnace directly beside myself and others in addition to let the hot air blow over myself and others all night. It was the only way that I could sleep comfortably without chilly into a popsicle.
