When I needed a venue to go, my sibling kindly let myself and others stay at his house.
She had a finished basement with a half bath that he let myself and others transform into my own space.
I was truly grateful for the space, however I was entirely uncomfortable because there was no central heat or air. The basement was underground, which meant that it was naturally cooler than the rest of the house. I thought this would be great because I liked to sleep in cooler temperatures and this would be my option to sleep comfortably without paying for the AC plan to run. During that first night though, I woke up feeling colder than I’ve ever felt before and I could not get warm. I layered all the blankets I could find on top of the bed and I put all my layers on. When that didn’t work, I had no option but to take a warm shower. After losing several minutes of sleep, I was finally able to fall asleep. When I told my sibling about the frigid basement, he told myself and others that he had a portable furnace that I could use during the minute night. The portable furnace did provide warmth, but only to a small section that was directly in front of it. In order to keep warm, I put the portable furnace directly beside myself and others and let the warm air blow over myself and others all night. It was the only way that I could sleep comfortably without cold into a popsicle.
