It wasn’t very long ago when our daughter was talking about playing soccer in the summer.
I was surprised because our daughter was the one always talking about going inside to enjoy the air conditioning instead of playing outside for very long.
I remember asking if these soccer matches were going to take place indoors where there would be plenty of air conditioning, but that was not the case. The soccer would be outside and I expected there would be some extremely overheated days when the youngsters would be playing. It was advised that all the youngsters wear plenty of sunscreen while playing outdoors too, if that wasn’t a big enough hint that it was going to be roasting outside. We went to all the games she was playing in and surprisingly, she did very well. It was like she was made for this game. Of course, we made sure to have a cooler full of ice-cold drinks for her and her teammates. I even joked with my wife about getting a tent we could relax in with a portable cooling machine. I thought it sounded great to be able to adjust the temperature control settings out there while watching the soccer games, but we ended up just bringing a large umbrella to provide us with enough shade. There were a lot of hot days, but some of the cooler days were more enjoyable. We typically would take our daughter out for ice cream after games where they had the best cooling system and some of the most delicious ice cream.
