Energy saving tips for your air conditioner this summer

I manage a blog that offers tips, common solutions, and good-to-know things for first-time homebuyers.

Buying a home for the first time can be a really exhilarating process, but it can also be intimidating since there are so many things to take into consideration and stay on top of.

We like to make things easy for other people. Our most popular blog post for new homeowners is all about tips for saving energy with air conditioners and heating systems. Managing your home HVAC can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! If you buy a home in a warm climate, the summertime can be tough to navigate for your air conditioner. One of my favorite energy saving tips to save on those costs would be to block sunlight that comes into your home. Even though the sun is amazing during the summertime, it can easily heat up the home and cause the air conditioner to overwork. Your air conditioner will thank you if you keep blinds, curtains, and drapes closed during the warmest parts of the day. Another tip that is really useful is to regularly clean your air filters. If you have pets, you definitely want to be sure you are cleaning your air filters often to clean out pet hair. Clogged air filters can increase your energy bill more than you would think, and pets tend to shed more as the warmer months approach. In addition to that post, we have some other blogs about choosing a house with a pool, how to find a trusted landscaper, and even how to get along *with less-than-favorable neighbors.
