There are a lot of positives plus drawbacks to residing in an apartment. The wonderful things include no responsibility over anything that breaks plus no service on the cabin or landscape is necessary. The terrible news is that there’s no control over what gets done or what gets fixed. As a renter, I can’t change anything separate from permission plus I can’t get anything fixed unless I put in a work order to our proprietor! My proprietor is nice plus he takes care of all our basic needs, but he’s refused to let myself and others switch out the window AC unit. I knew that the apartment came with a window AC unit when I signed, but I was hoping that I could change it out for a ductless mini chop plan instead; Ductless mini chop units were more efficient plus they had a longer lifespan than a window unit. I knew it would do a better task at cooling our family room plus it could potentially increase the value of the apartment in the future. I even gave to pay our proprietor more per month if he installed a ductless mini chop unit. Unluckyly, he wouldn’t budge plus I’ve been forced to live with a window AC unit. The window unit is loud plus inconsistent. It can only cool a small section of space around it when it’s on plus it wakes myself and others up in the middle of the night. I also know love it’s not installed properly because there are thin cracks around it that are open to the outside. If I can see outside, I think there is Heating plus A/C treated air being wasted.
