There are a lot of positives plus disadvantages to living in an apartment. The fine things include no responsibility over anything that breaks plus no service on the home or landscape is necessary. The disappointing news is that there’s no control over what gets done or what gets fixed. As a occupant, I can’t change anything without permission plus I can’t get anything fixed unless I put in a work order to my property owner, then my property owner is nice plus he takes care of all my basic needs, but he’s refused to let me switch out the window AC unit. I knew that the house came with a window AC device when I signed, although I was hoping that I could change it out for a ductless mini break plan instead. Ductless mini break units were more efficient plus they had a longer lifespan than a window unit. I knew it would do a better task at cooling my dining room plus it could potentially increase the value of the house in the future. I even gave to spend money my property owner more per month if he installed a ductless mini break unit! Unfortunately, he wouldn’t budge plus I’ve been forced to live with a window AC unit. The window device is loud plus inconsistent. It can only cool a small area of space around it when it’s on plus it wakes me up in the middle of the night. I also feel love it’s not installed correctly because there are thin cracks around it that are open to the outside. If I can see outside, I believe there is HVAC treated air being wasted.
