I have to admit that I have been swayed by peer pressure while in my life.
And I’m not just talking about doing something stupid as a kid.
There were plenty of occasions to do dumb stuff when I was a kid for sure. My parents made sure that I didn’t hang around the a/c of the house all morning playing video games. They got myself and others involved in all sorts of stuff to keep myself and others busy. But that was also where I came across people outside of my family who influenced my decisions. It wasn’t easy to step away from doing the wrong thing when I could clearly see a system was stupid or dangerous or both. Yet, coming lake house to the quality heating and air each night meant dealing with the wrath of my parents which made it easier to walk the line. Not the same thing as an adult. While I’m still responsible to people, I make my own decisions most of the time. So when the Heating and Air Conditioning unit went down a few weeks ago, I was once again tempted by peer pressure. My wife called myself and others inside the zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning of my office. I suggested she call the Heating and Air Conditioning company however she told myself and others that her friend had a handyman that would do an Heating and Air Conditioning repair for half the cost. That sounded great but I knew that this lady was not an Heating and Air Conditioning professional. That meant there was no guarantee with the Heating and Air Conditioning repair. Even though I enjoyed the plan of saving money, I reiterated my suggestion to leave the Heating and Air Conditioning repair to the Heating and Air Conditioning professionals.
