The heat pump was on its last leg

My granny lives out in the country in one of the most amazing places on this earth.

Her farm is surrounded by forests and hills where we grew up running around.

Every summer, my cousins and I would end up at the farm and only return home at the season’s end. We loved it and found living in such spaces calmer than in the big city. We also felt lucky we had that since our friends never got the whole rural experience. We’ve kept up the tradition of going to the farm whenever possible to be with grandma. Last year, 4 cousins and I went to the farm, and while there, we noticed something was amiss with the heat pump. Grandma had this heating and cooling system set up in the house to serve her during all seasons. But, the house felt warmer than usual, so we spoke to grandma about it. She explained the heat pump was getting old, but she had no plans to replace it at the moment. My cousins and I knew this was our chance to give back to our loving grandma. We called an HVAC business one town over that sent an HVAC technician to inspect the aging heat pump. The lady showed up 2 hours later and ascertained it was time to replace the heat pump. Before she left, she gave us a quote, and we planned the replacement 2 days later. Grandma was so happy to hear she was getting a new heat pump in her home. That evening, while we were having dinner, she made her special dessert, and we were all stuffed before bedtime.
