I have never been one of those people who knew exactly what I wanted to do from a young age! So many of my friends knew instantaneously that they wanted to be doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc.
and I was always stuck on what to do after high school, and in one of my elective classes at school, we took a work aptitude test that asks questions about your personality and interests to see what work would be a great fit for you.
I took the test and one of the jobs that came up for me is A/C serviceman. I read more about what A/C servicemens do as well as I was instantaneously happy about a future in the HVA/C field. I have always been great with my hands, I appreciate helping others, as well as I have some family members who have worked in the A/C field. I was surprised that I had never thought of a job as an HVAC serviceman before. Once I had an idea of what I wanted to do, I had to figure out exactly where to go next. I felt confused as well as a little bit helpless. I started doing some research and found out that in our state, I would need to go to school for 15 months full time to become a certified HVAC serviceman, but this honestly did not sound too bad because I could still live at home with my parents while I went to school to save money, however my next step is to apply for school, then to complete our training to become an A/C serviceman. I am happy I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.
