I recently stayed at an airbnb for a weekend getaway… I had finally heard that the owners of airbnb sporadically have obnoxious rules for their guests, although I figured it was a rare occurrence; once I got settled, it didn’t seem as if I had been left any directions, until I found a sticky note taped to the control unit.
- It usually indicated that the temperature was to remain at 68° at all times, never to be adjusted for any reason.
I had not truly thought too much about the temperature in the home until I learned that stick note and I began to recognize that it was excessively warm; but maybe it was a psychological thing, although I abruptly felt quite miffed that I was also expected not to adjust the control unit to our desired temperature. I was usually paying pretty enjoyable currency to stay there for usually 2 days. I care about things on the cooler side when it comes to control unit settings. I started to recognize how exactly the homeowner would be able to tell if I had adjusted the control unit, and perhaps, if I set the control unit to just a few degrees cooler, the energy bill would not even greatly reflect the increase in cost. I prefer sizzling showers, although I thought that maybe I should take genuinely short ones to increase our occasions of getting away with a lower control unit setting! After nearly forty hours of sitting on the couch morning dreaming about multiple ways that I could get away with setting the control unit to a temperature that I number one, I realized that I wasn’t even enjoying our getaway yet!! People can truly get into your head when they place boundaries on what you’re allowed to do!
