In my personal opinion, I prefer the central heating and A/C system over any other HVAC equipment. Now granted, I haven’t tried all forms of HVAC technology, so I can’t really say for sure, but I have lived with quite a few, and none of them come even close to the central heating and cooling unit. The first HVAC experience I had was when I was in an apartment. The apartment had window air conditioning. While the window A/C itself was fine, the fact that it could only cool one room was very annoying. Every time it was hot, I was limited to that one room only if I wanted to stay cool. The second experience I had was with a portable air conditioner, which was mostly the same as the window HVAC, except with the bonus of being portable. Then I had experience with radiant heated flooring, and as great as they were technology wise, they were difficult to repair once they started having issues. Last, I had experience with a heat pump, which in my opinion didn’t heat and cool nearly as efficiently as the central air conditioning unit. This is why I prefer the central HVAC component over any of the other systems and in my next home I will definitely have a central A/C unit. I know some people may disagree with me, and maybe I will find another system that I like better, but for now, I know what I want when it comes to my HVAC technology.
