He didn’t even know about the dumb waiter in the kitchen
There really aren’t a lot of old houses still available. Most of them have been torn down or condemned. All of the old architecture from the 1800s is nearly gone and that makes me feel very sad. When I saw an old Victorian house for sale two towns over, I convinced my husband that we had to buy the house and restore it to its former glory. I went to look at the house and it was even nicer than the pictures online showed. There were a lot of details that were not mentioned online that I felt were incredibly important. There were chandeliers and light fixtures that were original to the house. The place had a lot of character, especially in the kitchen. I was especially fond of the dumb waiter and back entrance to the house. I love the beautiful hardwood floors in the kitchen. They reminded me of the floors in my grandmother’s house when I was a child. I fell in love with the property the first time that I saw it and I convinced my husband that we had to buy it. The owner wanted a reasonable amount of money, considering the historical significance of the house. The guy got the property in a will and he had held on to it for 40 years. He never lived in the house for a single day. He didn’t even know about the dumb waiter in the kitchen. The house definitely needed a lot of changes, especially after there was a flood in the kitchen. About 2 months after the sale of the house was finalized, the house flooded and we had to replace the hardwood flooring. I was absolutely devastated, because I couldn’t get the same flooring ever again.
