Tomorrow is my only day off for the next two weeks and I am going to have to go out first thing in the morning to make sure that I can find a new thermostat system for the house before I have to go back to work.
- When our thermostat unit tore up last week, it caught me by surprise.
I have never had a thermostat just completely stop working all at once before. But now that the thermostat is broken, my heating and cooling system won’t work at all. Somebody told me the other day that your thermostat unit is like the brains behind your heating and cooling system. I had never really thought about that before, but now that mine is broken, I see that it was really an apt description. Without the brains behind the heating and cooling system, the heating and cooling system doesn’t do anything at all! It’s still really hot around here and the summer is not over yet, so I definitely still need to be using my central air conditioning system. That’s why I’m going out today on my day off to hunt down a new thermostat unit for the house. Even though this does not seem like the most exciting thing to be doing on my only day off from work, I do know that it really has to be done. It’s just one of those things. I might as well just go ahead and go get it over with. I think that I might end up purchasing one of those new smart thermostats that I will be able to control from my smartphone. Maybe that would be better than another regular old thermostat like I had before.
