My dad called me the other day and said that it’s way too hot at the retirement home where he is living.
He’s been there for about a month now and I think he was really trying to settle in without complaining too much.
He hasn’t mentioned the fact that the place is too hot for him until now. I’m wondering why that is, but maybe it’s because he just didn’t want to rock the boat up until this point. Whatever the reason is, I am determined to get it remedied for him. The last thing I want to do is leave my dad there with him feeling hot and uncomfortable. My dad has always really liked using the air conditioning, ever since I can remember. He would come home from work in the afternoons whenever I was a kid and immediately sit down in front of the air conditioning vents in the kitchen. I know that my dad really loves having air conditioning during the summer so the fact that the retirement home is too hot for him makes me feel super bad for him! I told my dad when he called me that I would be over to see him the next day. When I got there, I talked to one of the directors of the home and mentioned the problem with the temperature in the home. He gave me permission to install a window air conditioning unit in my dad’s room. When I walked in the next day with my dad’s new air conditioner, he was super excited!
