There was a strong smell of dog food

I noticed yesterday morning that there was a strong smell of dog food coming out of the air conditioning vents whenever the A/C kicked on inside of our house.

I didn’t know why this was happening, but once I did a little bit of an investigation, I figured it out.

Apparently, a mouse or a rat has been storing dog food in the ductwork in my house! I have been living on my own for a long time now, and I have never in my life seen a mouse or a rat store anything in the ductwork, least of all my dog’s food! The worst part of this is the fact that the kind of dog I have is a rat terrier. Apparently, my dog does not know what kind of a job he is supposed to be doing. Rat terriers are supposed to keep rats and mice away from your house, but he is slacking on the job, for sure. I don’t know how he has missed this rat or mouse or whatever it is, but I wish that he would get to work. As it is right now, every single time my air conditioning turns on, my house starts smelling like dog food! It is not really a pleasant smell, that’s for sure! Also, whenever I’m in the kitchen, I can hear the little pieces of kibble rattling around down inside of the air conditioning vents! This is the weirdest situation to be in. I don’t know whether to call the exterminator or our HVAC company first.
