Not even a faulty dual fuel system could ruin my day off

We can all agree that the night before my day off is more satisfying than the actual day out.

The night before, for me, is dedicated to food and movies. Some days I make a nice home-cooked meal; other days, it’s pizza. On this specific night, I made spaghetti and meatballs and picked out three movies. When I finished cooking, I realized the house felt cold. I immediately went to check the thermostat, and that’s when I realized the HVAC unit in the living room was off since it was a zoned system. I tried to turn it on manually but to no avail. The heating device in the bedroom was okay, but that would mean watching the movies on the laptop. I wanted to watch them on the tv since it was a much bigger screen. Then I remembered that it was a dual-fuel system, so I had an alternate source. The only problem was that I needed to learn how to switch because it usually happened manually. It was too late to call any heating business or an HVAC professional. I tried to think why the unit was not working, and I never skipped the heat pump service. I had scheduled an annual furnace/heater tune-up with my HVAC supplier. My movie night was going differently than planned. My other option was to call a friend who works at a homeowner solutions company as an HVAC technician. I called her, and she guided me on how to work the heating equipment. For a minute, I missed the days when I had an electric furnace since it was less troublesome, but in my quest to seek quality heating, I had asked the heating contractor to give me other alternatives. The indoor comfort was worth it.
