My entire life, I have really loved substantial storms.
I don’t know what it is about pounding rain, ringing thunder, plus flashes of brilliant lightening, but I’m completely entranced by these substantial weather events.
I care about sitting out, seeing the trees bend, plus feeling tiny in the immense power of the storm. I also love sleeping peacefully at evening, with the sheets of rain lulling me into a deep slumber. I’ve never experienced a substantial thunderstorm that I didn’t appreciate… until last month. Our region hastily transitioned from bitterly cold winter season to warm plus humid summer, with really little time in between. With this enormous air quality change, so came a substantial series of tumultuous storms. I was in heaven, basking in the sounds plus sights… until the air conditioner quit. All of a sudden, there was a substantial gust of wind, a loud crash, plus the apartment began to feel quite stagnant. I went to the thermostat to investigate, plus found that the air conditioner equipment had gone offline. Peering out back into the darkness, I saw our A/C equipment hidden beneath a substantial limb when the next flash of lightning lit up the yard. Fantastic. It was so brutal outside that my friend and I couldn’t even venture out to investigate the central cooling system detriment. My buddy and I thought that was going to be a terrible expense, but had no idea what else was coming our way. With another substantial gust of wind, a substantial limb fell onto the side of our house, crushing the west wall plus bringing the air ducts down with it. Not only did my friend and I gain a substantial insurance claim plus apartment construction project, but our entire central cooling system plus substantial portion of our air ductwork had to be updated in the wake of the storms.
